About Harper's Island

Harper's Island is a horror/thriller/mystery CBS TV series that ended last July, 2009. The show spans only 1 season (13 episodes), which is both a good thing and a bad thing. A good thing because unlike other TV shows that force themselves to stretch out into several seasons for the love of money and ratings (never mind that the general public is on the very edge of their seats and biting the last bit of their nails), Harper's Island actually stays true to its main purpose of satisfying the viewers' close attention to the series, and reveals the culprit behind the serial killings at the end of the season; A bad thing because those of us who were thoroughly hooked by the show are now left wanting for more. Unfortunately, ratings for the show were not high enough to rationalize a second season (which would feature an entirely new plot and set of characters), so we can only buy the DVD (it hits shelves this coming September) and replay the awesomeness of this show over and over.

One by One: The Characters of Harper's Island

The main characters of the show include the central character, Abby Mills, whose mother was one of the victims of the gruesome Wakefield serial killings 7 years ago; the groom and the bride holding the wedding on the island - Henry Dunn and Trisha Wakefield (A Cinderella story, only the guy is the one marrying into a rich family); Abby's old flame, Jimmy Mance, a local fisherman who has been pining for her since she unexpectedly left 7 years ago after the killings, without even a kiss goodbye; the sheriff in town, the father of Abby, whose relationship with Abby has grown strained, and a lot of other personalities that help shape the drama and suspense of the show.
